Velvet shoes?Slippers?no…”Del Toro shoes”.

Il loro simbolo è un toro, dal nome della squadra di calcio di cui Matthew Chevallard è tifoso: il mitico Torino, appunto. Questo ragazzone di 25 anni  cresciuto in America, ha origini italiane, padre torinese e madre americana, e da 7 anni è presidente e stilista delle “del Toro shoes”, le slippers di velluto che vediamo ai piedi dei vari Lapo Elkann, Pharrel Williams, Alex Rodriguez, Lebron James e molti altri. La storia di questo bussiness è casuale: alla fine del liceo, per la graduation, Matthew desiderava assieme ai suoi tre migliori amici, poter festeggiare il diploma indossando un paio di comode slippers di velluto, ma il tempo di attesa era troppo lungo per averle e il prezzo eccessivo: cosi decisero di crearsele “in casa” e nel giro di pochi giorni, le “del Toro shoes” erano nate. In questi giorni mi trovo negli USA e sono andata a trovare Matthew nel suo showroom: creatività pura e istinto fashion!

Their symbol is a bull, from the name of the football team of which Matthew Chevallard is a fan : the legendary Torino. This young boy of 25 years grew up in America, has Italian roots,  father from Torino and American mother, and by 7 years is the president and the designer of the “del Toro shoes“, the famous velvet slippers we see  at the foot of the various Lapo Elkann, Pharrell Williams, Alex Rodriguez, LeBron James and many others. The history of this bussiness is a sign of destiny: at the end of high school for graduation, Matthew wanted with his three best friends, to celebrate his graduation wearing a comfortable pair of velvet slippers, but the waiting list was too long  and too expensive for them:  so they decided to create them by their own and in a few days, “del Toro shoes” were born. These days I find myself in the U.S. and I went to see Matthew in his showroom: pure creativity and fashion instinct!
