Mai come quest’anno la cerimonia di apertura dei Giochi Olimpici, si è rivelata così attenta ai look degli atleti. Una vera e propria passerella che ha visto sfilare alcune delle più grandi firme del fashion system, che hanno fatto a gara per vincere la medaglia della loro specialità, quella dello stile.
Se già in questi primi giorni di gara, gli atleti ci hanno regalato emozioni e sorprese, bisogna ammettere che anche i designer non sono stati da meno.
Vista la qualità delle proposte, devo ammettere che non è stato affatto semplice comporre il podio di Affashionate.
Al terzo posto troviamo la divisa del Regno Unito disegnata dall’ormai consolidato binomio Stella McCartney-Adidas, mentre la seconda piazza va al blazer blu di jersey disegnato da Armani per la nostra nazionale. La medaglia d’oro (permettetemi di dirlo) va assegnata per distacco a Ralph Lauren che ha vestito Phelps e compagni con una splendida giacca con taglio blazer e una maglia a maniche lunghe fasciata con i colori rosso, blu e bianco, dimostrando che nella moda così come nello sport vince chi ha una grande tradizione.

Never, before this year, the Olympic Games Opening had been so careful with the look of the athletes. Just like a real runway that hosted some of the greatest names of the fashion system, competing for the golden medal for style.
Just like the athletes, in these two first days of competitions, even the designers gave us strong emotions and surprises. Given the high-quality of the competitors, putting together the Affashionate podium wasn’t easy. At the third place we find the UK uniform designed by the famous duo Stella McCartney-Adidas, whilst the silver medal goes to the jersey-blue blazer designed by Armani for the Italian team. Finally, the golden medal goes to Ralph Lauren that designed  for Phelps and his fellow Australian team members a wonderful blazer-like jacket and a long sleeved sweater  in blue, white and red, thus showing that even in the fashion world wins who respects the traditions.
